CASE STUDY:

After a subcontractor performed negligent work on a container shipping vessel in the care, custody, and control of our client, USI’s Marine and Logistics Team advocated on the client’s behalf, effectively forcing the insurance carrier to take immediate action against the subcontractor as well as their insurance carrier. In addition USI successfully negotiated to get the vessel operator covered as an additional insured on the client’s policy. This enabled future contracts between the client and the civilian operator to proceed as scheduled for the overhaul of two more container vessels owned by one of the country’s largest shipping manufacturers. USI’s assessment of contract language, coverage interpretation, loss control, and claims advocacy saved the client over $3,000,000 in potential exposures and a 10% rate improvement.
