CASE STUDY:

A USI Higher Education client was constructing a new student center. The excavation process inadvertently damaged the water main which was backfilled by a subcontractor. The water main ruptured causing damage to a nearby building that included classrooms, bookstore, IT and administration facilities. USI immediately deployed a team to the site after hours and assisted in the claim coordination—directly tracking property damage loss, business interruption and extra expense loss exposures. The USI team facilitated communication with the carrier to best position timely and amicable claim resolution, successfully subrogating the claim and saving the University $150,000 in covered losses.
